How it works
Every filter goes out through the local church.
Our model is wonderfully unique:
- Our local church partners prepare the neighborhoods and families your team will visit.
- You split into small groups, each paired with a translator and someone from the church.
- You give each family a water filter, a New Testament, and a chance to hear how much God loves them.
- The local church follows up with every family and disciples those who pray to receive Christ.
A typical week
Most people say it's not long enough.
Mornings and afternoons are for families. Evenings are for your team, sharing how the Lord is working.

Fly in, meet your Filter of Hope host, and settle in.
Filters and the gospel
Days 2–5
Visit homes with a local church, install filters, and share Jesus.
Cultural day

See and experience the local culture with your team.

Who would I travel with?
Pull together your own team of at least 15 (at least 12 of them age 13 or older) from your church, organization, campus, family, or friends. Other options include corporate team-building retreats, trips just for women, trips for fathers and sons, and high school or college groups.
When can I go?
Often you can choose dates that work for your group. We'll do our best to fit your schedule. We suggest at least 5 to 6 months to build your team, raise funds, and prepare.
What is the housing like?
- All housing is clean and secure, in safe neighborhoods.
- Most bedrooms have air conditioning, unless lodging is at a higher, cooler altitude.
- The food is safely prepared, delicious, and dietary needs can be met.
- We supply plenty of filtered water for drinking and brushing teeth.
How much will it cost?
- All-inclusive in-country cost: $870
- Five Filter of Hope water filters: $200
- Cultural day: $50
- Airfare: pricing varies
We even give you tools and tips to help raise money for your trip.
Will I have help with the details?
Yes. Your team gets a coordinator who walks you through each step, and a Filter of Hope staff member travels with you. Our goal is to handle as many details and logistics for you as we can.
What results can I expect?
- Hundreds of people will have clean drinking water at home for the next 10 years.
- With the help of the Holy Spirit, many will come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.
